Beauty brand Haeckles have been shaking up the beauty industry for a few years with their all natural ocean first skincare products and belief in bio positive beauty. Describing themselves as ‘A community problem solver’ they aim to solve the waste problem within the beauty industry from the use of natural ingredients that are in abundance (algae, mycelium and seaweed to name a few) as well as developing packaging that is truly recyclable or compostable. Borne and manufactured by the sea in Margate, they have recently refurbished their Hackney store which is a new experiential retail concept showcasing a new way to shop shunning any obvious sustainability tropes and instead opting for a “lab aesthetic” that nods to their belief in the symbiosis between science and nature.
